Resignations a drama, says CPI (M)

Staff Reporter

ANANTAPUR: The CPI (M) district secretary G. Obulakonda Reddy on Sunday observed that the ruling Congress was enacting the drama of resignations in the civic bodies of Dharmavaram earlier and Anantapur now, in an effort to cover up its failures.

He alleged that the ruling party had failed to keep any promise it had made before Municipal elections in 2005.

When the CPI (M) had pointed out lack of development in Anantapur Municipal Corporation the ruling party held that the Left party had become an obstacle in the development.

Mr. Reddy sought to know from the ruling party leaders why fifteen of the party’s corporators were alleging the same thing now.

The CPI (M) had also highlighted the large-scale irregularities in the implementation of welfare schemes like Indiramma houses and old age and widow pensions, Mr. Obulakonda Reddy said while talking to newspersons here.
