Pension for AIDS patients on cards

KADAPA: The State Government is contemplating a monthly pension of Rs. 200 to the families of HIV positive/AIDS patients in the State, District Collector M.T. Krishna Babu said.

Addressing a meeting with district officials on atrocities on women on Saturday here, the Collector warned that houses or lodges used for flesh trade would be seized on a permanent basis and cases would be booked against the lodge owners. He also warned of cases against women traffickers. Fifty one villages in Kadapa district were identified as prone to women trafficking, Mr. Krishna Babu said and told officials to identify drop-out children in those villages and enroll them in schools.

The Government was extending assistance of Rs.10,000, arranging financial assistance from societies and ensuring grant of bank loans for rehabilitation of commercial sex workers liberated from Bangalore, Mumbai and Pune.
