KHAMMAM: The Mee Kosam yatra of Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu in Khammam district will be cut short by half a day as he is keen on visiting the chilli market in Guntur and meet farmers whose stocks were destroyed in the fire accident. Mr. Naidu, who is to complete the yatra in Nalgonda district on Sunday, will leave for Guntur on Monday morning. Hence, his yatra, scheduled to commence in Khammam at 9.30 a.m. on Monday, is likely to be delayed by five to six hours. The yatra woill enter the district only in the afternoon, according to Tummala Nageswara Rao, party district president. Despite the delay, almost all the places sought to be covered in the yatra will be covered. He said Mr. Naidu would cover some 30 km in Khammam district as part of the yatra. The focus would be mainly on Nelakondapalli, Mudigonda and Ballepalli areas. He would have paid a visit to some residential colonies or slums if he had sufficient time. Because of the changes being effected in the programme, it may not be possible now, Mr. Rao added. He would make his night halt at Ballepalli on May 5 and Ponnekallu village on May 6. He would leave for Warangal district on May 7.
