Thiruvananthapuram: Defence Minister A. K. Antony said on Friday that serving humanity was the best possible way for worship. Inaugurating the Nava Oli Jyothir Dinam celebrations at the Santhigiri Ashramam here on Sunday, Mr. Antony said Santhigiri’s message was one of peace, fraternity and human service transcending all caste and religious divides. Mr. Antony commended the great strides made by Santhigiri Ashramam in the field of affordable health care and education. P.C. Thomas, MP, presided over the function. He said the teachings of Karunkara Guru were civilisation’s guiding lights. It has helped create blessedness and nobility in all walks of life. K.V. Thomas, Mangode Radhakrishnan, MLAs; BJP State general secretary A.N. Radhakrishnan, Andhra Pradesh State Enquiry Commissioner Chandana Khan, IAS; INTUC State general secretary R. M. Parameshwaran, Pothencode grama panchayat president G. Vamadevan, Indian Union Muslim League district president Manvila Sainuddeen, former district panchayat standing committee chairman S. Anil Kumar, Pothencode grama panchayat member Bala Murali, Dr. S.S. Unnia and Rajiv Madhavan were among those who spoke. Santhigiri Ashramam secretary Swami Gurunischaya Jnana Tapaswi welcomed the gathering.
