MAHE: Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Planning V. Narayana Swamy has said that the Communist Party of India (Marxist) is pursuing double standards on foreign direct investment (FDI) with its opposition to the idea of FDI even as it welcomes it in the States ruled by it. Addressing a public meeting held here on Sunday in connection with a public reception to Puducherry Health Minister and Mahe MLA E. Valsaraj in the wake of a Madras High Court’s order staying a Vigilance inquiry into alleged irregularities in purchase of land by a cooperative society the Minister heads, Mr. Swamy said that the CPI(M) was welcoming foreign investments in Kerala and West Bengal even as it opposed the UPA government’s idea of FDI .
