CUDDALORE: The State government has reduced the age limit for admission to the Seva Illam here from 18 to 16 years, according to Collector Rajendra Ratnoo. In a statement issued here, the Collector said that women from socio-economically backward sections, widows and destitutes in the 16-40 age group and whose family income was less than Rs. 12,000 a year would be admitted to the Seva Illam that would provide for their education up to Plus Two. It would also impart training in nursing, typewriting and shorthand. They would be provided free accommodation, food, notebooks, textbooks and uniforms, the statement said.
