Three held on vehicle-theft charge

KOCHI: Three members of an inter-State vehicle-theft gang was arrested at Karukutty early on Sunday morning, the police said.

Those arrested by the Angamali police were identified as Anish, 18, of Valiakode, Kadambattukulam; and Riju, 23, and Sanoj, 20, both from Kallambalam, all in Thiruvananthapuram.

The police said they were found under suspicious circumstances in a multi-utility vehicle (MUV), which, on inspection, was found to have its locks broken open.

The gang confessed to have stolen the vehicle from a service station in Guruvayur. They were attempting to steal another MUV when arrested, the police said.
