VS flays Bush’s statement

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister V. S. Achuthanandan has termed U.S. President George Bush’s remarks about increased consumption of food items by Indians a reflection of his worries about the future of Republican presidency. Replying to questions on the sidelines of a public function here on Sunday, Mr. Achuthanandan said it could also be a reaction to the strong objections to the Indo-U.S. nuclear deal from within India and worries about the Republican Party losing the presidency. — Special Correspondent
