Ministers arrive for meeting

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Finance Minister of West Bengal Asim Das Gupta, who chairs the Empowered Committee of State Finance Ministers, and Ministers and officials in charge of finance and taxes from several other States arrived here on Sunday for a meeting of the committee at Kovalam on Monday. A few more Ministers are expected to arrive on Monday morning. The meeting will discuss policy issues related to the introduction of the goods and service tax and the terms of reference of the 13th Finance Commission. Besides, discussion of ways to increase tax revenues will also be taken up. The Ministers will meet separately before the meeting of the Empowered Committee scheduled for 11 a.m. — Special Correspondent
