Three officers in ACB net

HYDERABAD: Two officers of the Andhra Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board, Visakhapatnam and another from Eastern Power Distribution Company, found themselves in the Anti-Corruption Bureau’s net after they were caught on Saturday while allegedly accepting bribes.
A press release on Sunday stated that J.V.S. Sharma (52), assistant Development Officer, KVIB, was caught while accepting Rs.50,000 on behalf of Deputy Director M. Kailash Rao, from the complainant who ran an industrial unit. The amount was recovered from a secret locker in Mr. Sharma’s almirah.
The release stated that Bhukya Balakrishna (32), an assistant Engineer in Raghavarpuram, Chintalapudi mandal, West Godavari district, was arrested after being caught receiving Rs.4,000 from complaint Akula Vayunandana Rao, a farmer.
He allegedly demanded money for converting power connection into a three-phase one.
Balakrishna was produced by the Special Judge, ACB in Vijayawada.
