The Vellala Educational Trust was formed in the year 1984 by Kumarimavatta Vellalar Sangam. The very purpose of the trust is to give more opportunity to deserving young members in the Vellalar Community both in studies and employment. Educational institutions started by the Trust has the unique reputation of giving quality education to students in and around Nagercoil. The untiring efforts of the stalwarts of the Trust headed by President. Er.S.Ramanatha Pillai and Organising Secretary Sri.R.Anantha Krishnan and General Secretary Thiru.P.Chockalingam Pillai has made this possible. The Trust is succesfully running a Polytechnic College in the name of Kalaivanar N.S.Krishnan in Chenbagaramanputhoor. Now the latest and the prestigious addition is an Engineering College namely Kalaivanar N.S.K. College of Engineering at Therekalputhoor near Nagercoil. The College was started in the academic year 2007 – 2008 and was duly approved by AICTE - New Delhi and affliated to Anna University Tirunelveli. The K.N.S.K. College of Engineering has set very high standards set on a large expanse of land, amidst natural beauty, the College boasts the perfect environment for its Students to excel and play vital roles. The faculty, infrastructure, Student amenities and placement services are a notch above the rest in the region. With the aim of providing greater opportunity for those deserving Students, the College does not encourage capitation fees and provide fee concession to meritorious Students based on their marks in the qualifying examinations.
