Career in aeronautical engg. and marine engg.

Aeronautical Engineering

Aerospace engineering centres on the design of extremely sophisticated machines ranging from vertical take-off aircraft and jet transports to rockets and spacecraft.

Internal to these vehicles are modern software, information and navigation systems.

The vehicles themselves are part of larger transportation and Communication systems. Critical disciplines and technologies in this field include the mechanics and physics of fluids; solid mechanics & fluid mechanics, structures and materials; propulsion and energy conversion; strength of marerials, information, communication, control and estimation; Thermodynamics, humans, automation, autonomy; and avionics.

Graduates with an aerospace engineering degree will find career opportunities in commercial and military aircraft and spacecraft engineering, space exploration, the air transportation and based telecommunication industries, teaching, research, military service and many related technology-intensive fields such as transportation information and the environment.

A demanding technical education with a strong emphasis on understanding complex systems has also proved to be preparation for careers in business, law, medicine and public service.

Marine Engineering

Global Maritime has expanded in the last decade thereby requiring trained personnel in engineering as well as the nautical field. As such trained graduate marine engineers are in widely accepted globally for their better capability, administrative skill and grasp of English language which is again universally accepted as the common language for interaction.

PSNCET takes special pride in pioneering this branch of engineering and all endeavors are being made to teach the students all the nuances of theoretical, practical as well as etiquette, mannerism and made conversant with Marine regulations which are must for a seafarer.

The PSN College of Engineering & Technology is located at Melathediyoor, 12km away from Palayamkottai and 125 from Trivandrum.Unfolding its grandeur over 150 acres of land, a natural sanctuary of birds, magnificient scenery of evergreen trees.

The institute offers a four year degree in Marine Engineering from the academic year 2002-03.

The program is affiliated to Anna University. The Course has been approved by D.G.Shipping vide approval Number TRA/54/2004 dated 01.09.04.

This college is the second Engineering College in TamilNadu to get approval from D.G.Shipping, Ministry of transport and shipping ,Government of India, to start the four year BE-marine engineering Course.
