This Day That Age
The Government of Madras have sanctioned a grant of Rs.1 lakh for the construction of an Operation Theatre and Surgical Ward in the Andhra Mahila Sabha Nursing Home, Madras. The nursing home has at present a bed strength of 50 for maternity, general and children’s cases, and has an out-patient department where nearly 2,000 patients are treated every month free of charge. The nursing home provides for training of auxiliary midwife nurses for employment in the Community Development and Social Welfare Extension Projects.
