Sangareddy: Minister for School Education Damodar Rajnarsimha addressing a press conference in Siddipet on Sunday said that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi was making a mockery of democracy by tendering resignations at the drop of a hat. He pointed out that TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao is using the byelections just to hamper development in Telangana region. However the development ushered in by the Chief Minister would help us win the elections, he said. Recalling the death of four hundred students during the 1969 agitation for a separate State, Damodar said that in no way the byelection drama could be compared to the sacrifices made by those martyrs. Coming heavily on former Siddipet Legislator T. Harish Rao, he alleged that the visible development in the constituency is the result of the funds provided by the Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy. He said that the government has granted more than Rs. 1.38 crore for the development of Siddipet. Siddipet Member of Parliament Sarve Satyanarayana forecast a clean sweep by Congress in the byelections in Telangana region. He said that there are no groupism in Congress and all the seniors in the region would go hand in hand with the juniors to secure victory for the candidates. Sarve said that other States are eager to emulate the programmes launched by Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy. Rajya Sabha member Nandi Yelliah was also present.
