Festival concludes

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: Thousands of devotees thronged the Brahmasthanam temple here on Sunday to seek the blessings of Mata Amritanandamayi, who was participating in a two-day festival there.

Addressing the devotees, the Mata said that unnecessary haste is the trademark of today’s society. Such haste is never a solution to any problem and it makes us forget a number of things that we should be doing. We need to do everything with patience, she said. The Mata said that today’s generation has no time for anything. They spend hours in front of the computer and with cell phones, making the youth unable to appreciate the world’s beauty outside.

The festival concluded late Sunday night with the Mata’s darshan to the devotees. Earlier, the day’s rituals had begun with Lalithasahasranam koti archana and Rahu dosanivarana puja. District Collector Beena Vijayan inaugurated an Amritanidhi pension scheme for widows.
