Delhi sweats as mercury soars
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: Now well in the grasp of summer and with temperature gradually on the rise, the Capital was subjected to the hottest day yet of the season with the mercury snaking up to a searing 43 degrees Celsius on Sunday.
Strong winds were again the order of the day, as blustery conditions prevailed for most of the evening bringing down the ambient temperature marginally. A minimum temperature of 27.1 degrees Celsius was recorded on Sunday. Delhiites, though, can hope for partial relief from the blistering conditions with the weatherman forecasting a “partly cloudy sky with possibility of a dust storm/thunder storm in some areas” for Monday. A dip in the daytime temperature is also on the cards with a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius being forecast for Monday.
