Systematic campaign against me: Ramadoss

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: PMK leader S. Ramadoss on Sunday alleged that a systematic campaign was being carried out to portray him as a stumbling block to development.

Addressing a May Day public meeting organised by his party, Dr. Ramadoss said he had been releasing draft budgets and alternative proposals for industrial and agriculture development and youth welfare .

“We have suggested ways to generate 25 lakh jobs in Tamil Nadu. How can you say that I am against development? The Chief Minister could have sent his officials to discuss these issues with me. I would have been more than happy to share my ideas. But it did not happen,” he said.

Dr. Ramadoss also recalled his demand for a White Paper on the employment generated by the schemes and memoranda of understanding the Government had signed with private sector companies.

Alleging that in the name of Special Economic Zones, the land of the poor was being acquired, the PMK leader asked what was the need to allot prime land in the city to the Tatas.

“What is the need for a five star hotel in an IT park?” Would it benefit the employees of the IT park, he asked.
