New block inaugurated



Stress-free: Students of G. Ramaswamy Naidu Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Coimbatore practising yoga.

A Montessori Activity Room was inaugurated at Sri. P. Mallaiyan Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Madukkarai. The Correspondent of the School, M. Doraisamy, inaugurated the block. The new block has a ballroom, basket ball court. It also has play materials and creative study materials.

Yoga classes

For the students of Standard IX and XI of G. Ramaswamy Naidu Matriculation Higher Secondary School, yoga classes were conducted.

“The aim of the programme is to help the students develop confidence, be stress-free and remain alert,” said Seetha Poovaiah, Principal of the school.

Yoga also encouraged creative thinking, she added. Yoga also helped in the physical, mental, social, intellectual and emotional development of an individual, she said.

It also balanced the functioning of the nervous system.

The programme was organised by Ms. Jeyashree.
