LPG consumers stage ‘rasta roko’

Paralysed: Domestic gas consumers stage ‘rasta roko’ in front of the Collectrate at Sangareddy in Medak district.

SANGAREDDY: Consumers of LPG cylinders led by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Medak committee organized a ‘rasta roko’ in front of the District Collectorate here on Monday demanding bifurcation of the existing gas supply agency in the town.

Town committee secretary M. Balraj addressing the gathering alleged that the administration has failed to solve the gas shortage problem in the town.

He said that hundreds of residents including women and children were made to wait for cylinders in hot summer near the godown.

Black market

The Consumers alleged that the agency is selling cylinders in black market. They demanded establishment of another agency as the present agency has more than 29,000 connections to deal with.

Wilful delay

They said that the administration is wilfully delaying implementation of the orders to create another agency in the town only to benefit the existing agency.
