At the talks, even after the Joint Collector assured them that their demands would be met in the next three weeks, they made it clear that the oustees who forced contractors to stop work on Friday last would continue the blockade.
Ultimatum
The MLA said that the district administration had failed to win confidence of the oustees who had served an ultimatum with 20 demands on February 1 that they would intensify stir from May 1.
Their demands include allotment of land to families displaced from Nandivanivalasa, Basangi and Sunki villages, Relief and Rehabilitation package for those who crossed 18 years of age, widows and senior citizens, basic amenities, including burial ground, at rehabilitation colonies etc.
Earlier, the oustees took out a rally from municipal office to the RDO’s Office where they staged a dharna from 10 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.
