The long coastline dotting the State will soon be developed into exclusive resorts to woo tourists from across the globe

MYPADU (NELLORE): Andhra Pradesh will soon develop into a hub of beach resorts giving beach tourism in the State a fillip, according to Information and Public Relations and Tourism Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy.

“Despite having a vast coastline laced with sandy beaches when compared to Kerala and Goa, the State has failed to exploit its assets and lags behind in wooing a great number visitors from across the globe.

But the present Government has decided to give a boost to beach tourism by constructing resorts at all important beaches in the State with different kind of amenities,” the Tourism Minister said after laying the foundation stone to Haritha resort here on Monday.

Mypadu beach

To begin with the Tourism Department has taken up the development of Mypadu beach into a resort in its bid to cater to the tourists with welcome accommodation and ambience.

“Entry plaza, construction of washrooms and showers, restaurant, parking area, landscaping and 16 cottages are the amenities that are proposed for development at Mypadu with Rs. 1.60 crore. And all of them will be put in place within six months. Subsequently, similar amenities will be provided at another beach at Kodur in the district. Later, all other beaches across the State will be transformed in such a way that every tourist will find a sort of communion with natural air, water and sand in a relaxed atmosphere,” he added. Sarvepalli MLA Adala Prabhakara Reddy, APTDC Managing Director Jayesh Ranjan were present.
