KOCHI: Actor Dileep has approached the Ernakulam District Court with a complaint of violation of the copyright Act by the producer of the animation film ‘CID Moosa – 007.’ The actor has sought to restrain producer Binu Sasidharan and others associated with the animated film from distributing, selling and exhibiting the film. Mr. Dileep said that he had produced a Malayalam film with a similar name for which he held the copyrights. The caricatures of those who acted in his film were shown in the posters announcing the release of the animated movie. The producer of the animation film has also filed a caveat petition seeking to be heard before passing any stay order. The court, after directing the parties to file counter-affidavits, adjourned the hearing on the suit to May 9.
