TIRUNELVELI: District Collector G. Prakash on Monday handed over appointment order to a youth, posting him as Junior Executive at Aavin here after his father died in harness.
As R. Palavesam of Aavin died recently, his family forwarded a petition to Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi appealing to him to appoint one of the qualified family members in the cooperative milk society on compassionate grounds.
Responding to the plea, the State Government appointed P. Ramanathan alias Ramesh, the deceased’s son, as Junior Executive at Aavin.
The family members thanked the Government, the District Collector and the Managing Director, Aavin, Tiruenlveli, Siraj while receiving the appointment letter.
Mr. Prakash, who generously relaxed the upper age limit to enable the physically challenged to get the monthly assistance of Rs.400 from the Government, also disbursed to 43 beneficiaries the orders for getting the aid.
