Sarabjit’s sister to pitch in for Pakistani prisoners
Chandigarh: Days after Pakistan stayed the execution of death row prisoner Sarabjit Singh indefinitely, his sister Dalbir Kaur on Monday vowed to take up the release of 45 Pakistani prisoners languishing in Indian jails at the highest level.
“I have requested Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi and the Union government to give me permission to meet these 45 Pakistani prisoners languishing in different jails in the country for long,” Ms. Kaur told reporters here. The list of these prisoners was given to her by human rights activists during her recent visit to Pakistan, she said. — PTI
