KOLAR: Former Chief Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy declared on Monday that he will not rest till the Bharatiya Janata Party is routed out from the State. Addressing an election campaign meeting of the party at Malur in the district, Mr. Kumaraswamy remarked that the BJP policies were worse than the Congress. Charging that the BJP was working to uproot the democratic set up in the country, the Janata Dal (S) leader asked voters to reject the BJP. Objectionable remarksTaking strong exception to the alleged remarks by BJP Vice-president Venkaiah Naidu, comparing the Janata Dal (S) to a corpse, Mr. Kumaraswamy said that it reflected the real culture of the BJP. That party had lost the moral right to talk about ethics while it is sustained by funds provided by mining lobbies, he said, in apparent reference to MLC Janardan Reddy. On allegations that the Janata Dal (S) had broken the promise given to the BJP, Mr. Kumaraswamy retorted that it was the BJP that was “vachana brishta”. The BJP had not fulfilled the promise given to the nation on building the Ram Temple at Ayodhya, he said. Prabhakar, Janata Dal (S) candidate for Malur constituency and former MLA A. Nagaraj, who joined the Janata Dal (S) from the Congress, spoke at the meet. Former Minister R. Srinivas, Janata Dal (S) district president G.K. Venkatashiva Reddy, general secretary R. Dayanand and leader K.B. Gopalkrishna were also present. Mr. Kumaraswamy also addressed campaign meetings at Kolar Gold Fields, Bangarpet and Srinivaspur on Monday.
