“No flyover on BRT corridor”

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Delhi PWD Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan on Monday clarified that the Public Works Department was not constructing any flyover on the 5.8-km Moolchand-Ambedkar Nagar section of the Bus Rapid Transit section to ease the traffic thereon as had been reported in a section of the media.

Terming such reports as “baseless”, the Minister said as far as PWD is concerned, no flyover is being constructed on this section nor is any in the pipeline.

Mr. Chauhan said PWD is constructing three flyovers on Outer Ring Road to make it signal-free and reduce journey time substantially.

He said the foundation stone for these three flyovers on had been laid by Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit almost a year ago on May 9, 2007.
