The grim statistics

Bangalore: On May 3, Shweta (30) hanged herself after she allegedly strangled her two-year-old son in Kanakanapalya in Jayanagar 2nd Block.

Laxmamma, a 40-year-old garment factory worker, committed suicide along with her 21-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son in Basappanakatte on April 30.

A couple allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves at their house in Saraswathinagar in Bapuji Layout under the Vijayanagar police station limits on December 25, 2007. The couple, Sudha (26) and Nagesh (37), are survived by their daughter, Monisha (5). Sudha came home to see her husband at the end of a rope. Distraught, she tried to strangle Monisha, who survived the ordeal.
