Woman relieved of chain

TAMBARAM: A woman was relieved of a five-sovereign gold chain, while she was sleeping in her house in Chitlapakkam.
Police said the victim was sleeping near the windows that were open, police said.
Theft detected in Kancheepuram
The police have detected theft case within 48 hours and arrested two persons who allegedly committed theft in the house of a fish trader in Pudupattinam near Kalpakkam in the wee hours on Sunday.
According to police, Kumar (28) and Manoharan (25) of the same area struck at the house of Sheik Mohaideen.They took away 28 sovereigns of gold jewellery and Rs.14000 in cash kept in a wooden box in the house. The theft came to light when the inmates woke up at 2 a.m. Subsequently, a complaint was lodged with the police on Sunday morning, who detected the crime within 48 hours.
