Chetan Agarwal performs hat-trick

Cricket tournament

The Jaikrishna Memorial State-level u-15 cricket tournament will be played at Cantonment HSS (Pallavaram) from Tuesday. The matches leading up to the final will be 30-overs-a-side contests. The title clash will be played over two days.

Force I posts win

Chakra CA triumphs

Chakra CA won the Reddy’s U-10 cricket tournament by defeating AVM CCF CA by eight wickets in the final on Sunday.

Ms. K. Jyothirmayee, MD, Sandesh Data Systems, gave away the prizes.

The scores: AVM CCF CA 104 for three in 20 overs ( J. Swaraj 26, K. Vignesh 27, Vishal 35) lost to Chakra CA 105 for two in 14.5 overs (Hrishabh Ranjan 53).

Special prizes: Best batsman: C.S. Rohit (Asiatic CA); Best bowler: R. Kannan (Chakra CA); Best all-rounder: G. Magesh (Reddy CA); Best fielder: Syed Irfan (Reddy CA).

Darshan takes honours

Darshan Veeraraghavan with a score of 70 gross won the Monthly Medal Open golf tournament held at Madras Gymkhana Club Golf Annexe recently.

Other results: Open: runner-up: C.V. Yudhvir (81 gross). Handicap (0 to 21): winner: P. Mukherjee (70 nett); runner-up: Venkat Krishnan (72 nett). Handicap (21 and above) winner: Pranav Sachdev (71 nett).

Billiards camp

Boxing tournament

The Tamil Nadu State Amateur Boxing Association (TNSABA) will conduct the K. Srinivasan Memorial rolling Trophy (State novices championship for men) from May 10 to 14. The tournament is open to boxers who haven’t won championship medals. Entries close with the General Secretary (Ph: 9444386090), TNSABA, Room 79, Nehru Stadium, Chennai 3, on May 9. The weigh-in will be held from 8 a.m. on May 10 at Nehru Stadium. Bouts commence in the evening at YMCA, Nandanam.
