MADURAI: Leading watch retailer Titan Industries on Tuesday unveiled its ‘Stambha,’ a new ladies watch that is a part of its recently-unveiled Heritage collection designer wrist watches, in Madurai.

This collection reflected the 3,000-year-old art and cultural history of the country.

Speaking about the significance of the ‘Stambha,’ R. Venkatraman, a retired Madurai Kamaraj University Professor of Art History, said that meant pillar, a harbinger of fame, victory, prosperity and good luck. Mr. Rajan said that the Titan was targeting a sale of around 7,500 watches this fiscal in the Heritage collection. “The initial response has been very good. So, we might even touch 10,000.” The prices in the collection range between Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 10,000.
