B.C. Roy award for Madurai doctor

MADURAI: The Chairman of Aravind Eye Care System, P. Namperumalsamy, has been chosen for the B. C. Roy award by the Medical Council of India (MCI).

According to a communication received by the Aravind Eye Hospital here from P. C. Kesavankutty Nayar, President (acting), MCI, Dr. Namperumalsamy has been selected for the national award for 2006 under the category, ‘eminent medical teacher.’

The award, comprising Rs 15,000 and a medal, will be presented to Dr. Namperumalsamy by the President later this year.
