Rajnath Singh criticises Centre for price rise

Says BJP will fulfil all promises made in the manifesto

SIRSI: President of the Bharatiya Janata Party Rajnath Singh criticised the Union Government for its “failure” to control the rising prices of essential commodities.

Addressing an election rally at Ankola on Tuesday he said the Congress during its 50-year rule at the Centre could not eradicate poverty.

If the people of Karnataka gave a mandate to the BJP, the party would provide loans to farmers at 4 per cent interest, he said and added that it would fulfil all the promises made in the manifesto.

The “selfish” motives of Janata Dal (Secular) president H.D. Deve Gowda and his sons resulted in the collapse of the previous coalition government in the State, he said.

The BJP could provide a stable government if it gets a full majority, he added.

Party leaders such as ‘Mukhyamantri’ Chandru and D.H. Shankaramurty and party candidates Shashibhushan Hegde, Shivanand Naik, Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri and Prasad Karwarkar spoke on the occasion.

District BJP unit president Vinod Prabhu welcomed. Mr. Hegde proposed a vote of thanks.
