Special flying squad constituted

To ensure quality of agricultural inputs


Special quality control campaign already launched

Farmers advised to obtain receipts on any purchase


Chandigarh: The Haryana Government has constituted special flying squads to inspect the sale outlets and draw the samples of various agriculture inputs in order to ensure the good quality supply of agricultural inputs to the farmers. Disclosing this here on Tuesday Agriculture Minister, Harmohinder Singh Chatha, said that one of the officers of District Administration of the level of Sub Divisional Magistrate or City Magistrate or District Revenue Officer or District Development or Panchayat Officer or Tehsildar would be one of the member of the flying squad for that particular district.

However, the other members of the squad would be senior officers of the Department from State and District headquarters.

He further said that a special quality control campaign has already been launched in the State in collaboration with the district administration in two phases. The second phase would be started from June 10 to July 10 with special emphasis on fertilizer and pesticides.

He said that the main emphasis of the campaign would be drawl of samples of seeds, fertilizers, pesticidesand fungicides.

Mr. Chatha also advised the farmers to obtain receipts, cash memos, bills on the purchase of agriculture inputs, which may help them in filling claims in the consumer forum, in case of any damage to their crops with the usage of agricultural inputs procured by them. For obtaining the receipts, cash memos, bills on the purchase of agriculture inputs, the farmers need not pay any extra amount on account of taxes since VAT was not levied on these inputs, he added. — PTI
