Kozhikode
Kozhikode: I.P. Krishnan, one of the founding leaders of the Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), died here on Tuesday. He was 85. Mr. Krishnan, along with K. Karunakaran and B.K. Nair, joined the Kerala Labour Congress, the trade union which later became INTUC, in 1948. He was district president of INTUC for ten years from 1970. He was instrumental in enrolling women in INTUC. He was INTUC’s State vice-president and treasurer. The last rites would be held at Mavoor Road crematorium at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
