High Court notice to five doctors
New Delhi: Five doctors here have been issued notices by the Delhi High Court in connection with the death of their colleague in the hospital where all of them were working.
The Additional Sessions Judge Pratibha Rani, while issuing the notices to Dr Vivek Baniyal, Y. P. Munjal, V. K. Bindal, Rakesh Gupta and Chander Prakash said, “you have to appear in the court in person on May 20.”
According to the prosecution, deceased Subhash Goel was working as an ENT surgeon and consultant in the Sundarlal Jain Hospital in Delhi and was admitted to its ICU after he complained of dizziness on February 5, 1997. He died the next day. His father Murarilal Goel alleged that his son died due to the negligence of the hospital and moved the court after police refused to lodge an FIR. PTI
