Lucknow: Exhorting party men to prepare for next year’s Lok Sabha elections with a “do-or-die spirit”, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Tuesday claimed the “secular UNPA alliance” would emerge as an important player.

Addressing a meeting of the State executive, the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister on Tuesdav asked party workers to make “all-out preparations for the elections so as to strengthen the secular UNPA alliance which would emerge as an important player”.

Talking to reporters later, working president of the party’s State unit, Shivpal Singh Yadav, said workers have been asked to come out on the streets against the wrong policies pursued by the Union and state governments which have added to the woes of the people on all fronts including power shortage, price rise due to implementation of VAT and corruption.
