Probe into woman’s disappearance

KASARAGOD: A special cell of the Crime Branch of the State police will be asked to investigate the disappearance of Safiya, a domestic help at the home of Hamsa, a contractor from Masthikund in the district and at present based in Goa, Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has said. The Minister gave the assurance to Moithu and Ayisha, parents of Safiya, who met him at here on Monday. Ms. Safiya had been missing for the past 18 months. While her employer told the police that she had suddenly disappeared, the local people and her parents complained that Mr. Hamsa had a dubious role in the issue.
