Preethi and Bharathi in joint lead

Salem: Commonwealth medallist R. Preethi of Madurai and State sub-junior champion R. Bharathi of Chennai were in joint lead, with 5.5 points each, at the end of the sixth round in the 36th Tamil Nadu State women’s chess championship here on Tuesday.

Pon. N. Krithika (Kancheepuram) and S. Nabeela Farheen (Chennai) trail the leaders by half a point.

Ilango scored the only goal for PSNA Club.

In another match, Royal Football Club (Batlagundu) beat Arasan Football Club by a solitary goal scored by Jeyakumar.
