Surprise check by CBI officials at airport

BANGALORE: Central Bureau of Investigation officials made surprise visit to the HAL Airport on Monday and found the Customs officials allowing passengers to carry articles evading payment of Customs Duty.

A team of officers made a surprise check at the arrival area of the international terminal.

They found two passengers carrying 46 LCD colour televisions, 10 bottles of whiskey, car stereo and some readymade garments. The two passengers had evaded payment of Rs. 76,364 as Customs Duty.
