High-velocity winds lash Delhi

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: High-velocity dust-laden winds lashed the Capital on Tuesday evening. A partly cloudy sky ensured that the city remained relatively cool with a maximum temperature of 39.3 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature stood at 26 degrees.

According to the weatherman, the maximum temperature on Wednesday would be around 38 degrees.

“There is a possibility of rain or thundershower in some parts of the city on Wednesday. Thunder squalls are also likely over Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Jharkhand,” said the weatherman.

Regional Meteorological Centre director S. C. Bhan said: “The western disturbance and cyclonic circulation over Central Pakistan and some areas of Rajasthan are causing the kind of weather that we are now witnessing in the Capital. We are expecting the same weather pattern to continue over the next couple of days.”
