‘Vote for those who are pro-farmer’

BANGALORE: The Consortium of Indian Farmers Association launched “Raitha Jagruti Rath Yatra” here on Tuesday.
It will tour Kolar, Tumkur, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Mysore, Hassan, Chikmagalur, Shimoga, Chitradurga, Davangere, Haveri, Gadag, Hubli, Belgaum, Bagalkot, Koppal, Bellary, Bijapur and Gulbarga, and culminate in Bidar on May 12.
The “yatra” is aimed at appealing to the people to elect candidates who are pro-farmer. A “farmer’s manifesto” was released prior to the commencement of the “yatra.”
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, chairman of the federation P. Chengal Reddy said that the Karnataka Legislative Assembly should have members who were more sensitive to the problems faced by farmers.
