Azad confident of Congress win

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Tuesday left to the choice of the voters of Karnataka whether they want a government which would last its term solving problems of unemployment and poverty, development of infrastructure and benefiting all sections of people or a short-lived one engaged in power politics, doing nothing.

Addressing a meeting organised by Congress candidates from Malleswaram M.R. Seetaram and P.S. Krishnamurthy from Rajarajeswari Nagar constituency here, Mr. Azad the witnessed all-round development when S.M. Krishna was Chief Minister.

Referring to the statement of Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha L.K. Advani that the Bharatiya Janata Party was ready to sit in the Opposition if it did not get majority in the Assembly elections, Mr. Azad said that they had already accepted defeat. He said that the Congress was confident of winning a two-third majority in the state.
