Coimbatore: The Judge of the Essential Commodities Court, R. Rajasekharan, on Tuesday convicted and sentenced B. Vimala to undergo ten years rigorous imprisonment and pay a fine of Rs.1 lakh. The police on July 26, 2003 arrested Vimala, wife of Boominathan of Arivoli Nagar in Kovaipudur, for being in possession of 50 kg of ganja. The police registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. — Staff Reporter
