New DG for SAI

NEW DELHI: The Director-General of the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Ratan Watal, was relieved of his post on Tuesday.

He was put on ‘compulsory wait’ with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

Mr. Sayan Chatterjee, an IAS officer from the 1976 batch of the Kerala cadre, will take over from Mr. Watal.

The Secretary, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, S. K. Arora, will henceforth be Secretary, Youth Affairs. Mr. Sudhir Nath, an MP cadre IAS officer from the 1974 batch, will be the new Secretary, Sports. — Special Correspondent
