PUDUCHERRY: The M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, Puducherry, distributed certificates to 60 students under the Microsoft Unlimited Potential Programme on Monday. The foundation, along with Microsoft, is providing free training in Fundamental Computer, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Fundamental Digital Media, Fundamental Web Design and Internet browsing at its Knowledge Centre, covering 14 villages. “The course is for 120 hours, extended to a period of four months. At the end of the course, we conduct an examination and give certificates to successful students,” Adviser of the foundation A.R. Thiagarajane said. So far, five batches have completed the programme. . “We are conducting crash courses during the vacation. Once the exams are over, we publish the applications through the community newspaper and announce through the public address system in 14 villages,” he said. Member of Legislative Assembly A.M.H. Nazeem gave away the certificates to the students.
