DAVANGERE: Siddeshwar, MP for Davangere and leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, has said that L.K. Advani or Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will visit Davangere on Sunday to address the people as part of the party’s election campaign. He told presspersons here on Wednesday that party leader Sushma Swaraj would address the people at Jagalur on Friday. Mr. Siddeshwar said the Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) had not fielded candidates in Shikaripur Assembly constituency only to defeat BJP leader and former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa. He said both parties did not know that Mr. Yeddyurappa enjoyed the support of the people and it would not be difficult for him to emerge victorious. People were hit hard by the increase in prices of essential commodities, he added.
