Kakinada: Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi today warned derelict officials of disciplinary action for failure to reach the goals under Indiramma housing scheme. He expressed anguish that the district stood in the 19th position in the State in executing the scheme, with a marginal improvement of two percent in achieving the targets under phases 1 and 2 in the last 30 days. At a review meeting with the officials, Mr. Dwivedi took a serious note of the laxity in executing the scheme. He stated that he was not prepared to take the blame for inability of officials to meet the deadlines. He would rather take stern action against those who fall short of the targets as little time was left to complete the scheme. He ordered the mandal level officials of the Housing Department to set things right at the earliest to save themselves from penal action. Even ground-levelling work was not done in most mandals where the houses were sanctioned, the Collector observed and said that he would not tolerate any further negligence. Rajavommangi mandal stood at the bottom of the table in the phase 2 with just 16 percent achievement of the targets, followed by Kotthapeta (18 percent), Allavaram (19), Sakhinetipalli (20), Katrenikona (22), Mandapeta (22), Korukonda (23) and Kakinada rural (23). Maredumilli mandal has the lowest achievement of 13 percent in the second phase. Rowthulapudi, Gangavaram, Rampachodavaram, Y.Ramavaram, Addateegala and Yeleswaram mandals are the other mandals that fared badly in implementing the scheme in the first phase.
