Rajahmundry: Minister for Housing Botcha Satyanarayana has demanded TDP to clarify its stand on Women Reservation Bill, which was tabled in Parliament. He said the Congress, which has taken initiative, has commitment in introduction as well as passing the bill. But it seems that TDP wants to create obstacles to it, he said.

He was referring to remarks made by TDP senior leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu. Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, he said TDP leaders should clear whether they want Women Reservation Bill to be passed in Parliament or not. If they want to speak against the Bill the women will teach a lesson again to TDP, he added.

He said ‘Mee Kosam’ yatra by TDP president Chandrababu is for his selfishness and not to know the real problems of the general public.

He asked why Chandrababu has not spoken about the issues that he is rising today after he was thrown out of power. He said there was not much support to his yarta. Minister Botcha said the TDP leader was making all false and unrealistic promises to the people.

Speaking on Rajiv Gruhakalpa, he said the government had increased the value of land acquisition rate in urban areas and they planned housing for middle class before 2009.

The Minister said they had started this venture in 12 places in the State and the government will continue group housing in towns where land was not available and individual houses where land is plenty.

Social audit

He said they were going for social audit on Rajiv Swagruha houses and they have completed 12.80 lakh houses in the State. He said that all the details of these houses were computerized and want to verify them again as they found 5 to 10 percent variations.

MLA Routhu Surya Prakasha Rao, MLC Kandula Durgesh and others were present.
