ADILABAD: Congress candidate for Adilabad Lok Sabha seat byelections and Nirmal legislator A. Indrakaran Reddy on Wednesday assured to strive for an all-round development of the constituency on being elected. On top priority would be the Lower Penganga project and a railway line linking Adilabad town with Armoor in Nizamabad, he added. The Nirmal MLA said his party was not against Telangana becoming a separate State. “However, we have put development of the backward region on top priority and have taken necessary steps for that,” he told a large gathering of Congress workers from Adilabad Assembly segment here. Mr. Indrakaran Reddy said there was nothing called Telangana sentiment in the region. “It is only the piled up resentment of the people during the nine-year -rule of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) when no development took place here,”, he opined. AppealHe also appealed to Congress activists to reach out to every household in the constituency to convince people to vote for Congress for further development. Talking about development in Telangana Adilabad MLA C. Ramchander Reddy spoke about the various welfare schemes introduced by the Government. He said since Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy assumed charge as Chief Minister, there were no droughts in the State. Adilabad Municipal Chairman Digambar Rao Patil and others also attended.
