IRCTC package will cover major tourist centres First trip from Kerala is on August 11 KOZHIKODE: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will operate two trains from Kerala, touching major tourist centres in the country. The novel ‘Know India’ initiative launched by the Indian Railways was being operated from the State for the seventh successive time, sources at Travel Time India, the tour licensee said. The tours are being operated during the Onam season. The first trip will begin on August 11 from Thiruvananthapuram via Shoranur and will have stops at Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Delhi, among other centres, and return a fortnight later. Price and facilitiesThe Rs.7,216 package will include accommodation, food, tourism information, and vehicular transport to visit spots at each location. The second trip to Goa, Allahabad, Varanasi, Gaya, Kolkata, and Bhubaneshwar will commence on September 7. The 15-day tour will cost Rs.7,730. ObjectiveT.K. Abdul Majeed, managing director of Associated Travels said the IRCTC was organising the ‘Know India’ tour with the objective of providing an opportunity for safe and comfortable travel for of women and senior citizens.
